We've heard rumors, seen photos and now we have actual audition footage of notorious actor Nicolas Cage screen-testing for the cancelled Superman Lives movie project. As you probably already know, this project from director Tim Burton was doomed from the start, involved a crazy suit for the DC Comics superhero and featured Cage with very long hair and a slim figure. The footage that we're sharing with you today comes from the documentary entitled The Death of Superman Lives: What Happened? Directed and crowdfunded by filmmaker Jon Schnepp, we learn a ton of information about the failed film, namely the fact that the infamous "lightning suit" that we've heard about over the years wasn't a huge part of the movie. Go figure!
This new footage was shared with The LA Times and features a younger Cage trying out some moves in a different kind of Superman suit. According to this report, we get to see some great behind-the-scenes footage, interviews, concept art and so much more. In other words, this documentary gives us a taste of what could have been had this movie come to life. With that in mind, you should definitely enjoy the video below!
