When talk of the Emmy Awards comes up recently, it's that Chris Pratt (married to actress/comedian Anna Faris with whom he's recently had a son with) may be up for his first nomination for the last season of Parks and Recreation this year. According to Golden Derby, there is buzz around Pratt's name now that he has become an established movie star as well. Last summer's Guardian's of the Galaxy really got Pratt's name out there and with the recent release of Jurassic World during the Emmy voting period (June 15-26), Pratt could have this in the bag. It is clear that his caliber has changed since he first started on "Parks and Recreation" back in 2009.
Although he is now a fully fledged movie star, Pratt did start out on television and has even appeared on SNL performing a skit poking fun at action movie star Jason Stathem, back in September. Pratt has a wit and command about him even whether he is playing a meathead like he portrays Stathem in the skit, or the heartwarming Andy Dwyer on Parks and Recreation that everyone has come to know and love during the course of the show's 7-year run.
In addition to this exciting news, Pratt is in the midst of filming The Magnificent Seven along with Matt Bomer, Vincent D'Onofrio, Denzel Washington, Ethan Hawke, Byung-hun Lee and Peter Sarsgaard. Another film that Pratt is signed on to do is Passengers, a science fiction film where Pratt will star alongside Jennifer Lawrence in a world where there is spacecraft travel and while on their way to a distant colony one of the passengers' sleep chamber malfunctions awakening him 90 years early and he grapples with the fact that he might have to live alone and die all by himself.
There is no trailer for Passengers in the meantime, but there should be soon so keep checking back!
