Vicki Gunvalson has had a rough go of it over the last couple of months — not only has her boyfriend, Brooks Ayers been diagnosed with cancer, but she also just lost her mother, Joanne Closset Steinmetz. Fans of The Real Housewives of Orange County watched last night as Gunvalson got the phone call that turned her world upside down. Viewers heartbreakingly looked on as Vicki broke down and grieved for the loss of her mother. While it might have been a very private moment, the veteran housewife says that she has no regrets about opening up that part of her life for the TV cameras.

Vicki got the devastating news of her mother's passing while she was at co-star Shannon Beador's Bunco party; her castmates quickly rushed to her side to make sure that she was all right. While the moment is very traumatic, Us Weekly is reporting that Gunvalson didn't mind the Bravo camera's capturing it.

"It's part of my reality. I lost my mother," the star explained during an episode of Watch What Happens Live after the RHOC episode aired. "I signed up for all areas of my life to be exposed — the good and the bad. There's been a lot of great moments that have been aired and there's a lot of moments that I wish I wasn't on a reality show."

The star also took to her Bravo TV blog to pay tribute to her mom after the episode aired, writing, "There isn't a day that goes by where I don't want to pick up the phone to ask her a question or tell her I love her."

She also gives a word of wisdom to fans, saying to never take time that you have with loved ones for granted.

"I want to stress the importance of not putting off talking to or spending time with the ones you love. You never know when they will be taken from you," the star wrote.
