A very special announcement has been made for 2015 San Diego Comic Con. Making his way for the first time at an SDCC panel, Bill Murray (Ghostbusters) will be showing up to promote his Rock The Kasbah movie, directed by Barry Levinson (Rain Man), before its official release date.
As we previously mentioned, the trippy comedy follows the story of Richie Lanz (Murray), a rock manager with a golden ear and a taste for talent. Unfortunately for Richie, he has seen better times and realizes his heyday might be actually gone. When Richie takes his last remaining client on a USO tour of Afghanistan, she suddenly gets cold feet and leaves him. Penniless and without his passport in Kabul, Richie might have a chance to find his way home, with the help of a band of misfits and a young girl with an extraordinary voice.
According to E! Online, who has the exclusive scoop, the Lost in Translation actor will make his first appearance at Comic-Con to promote his new film. Most of the details are still being kept under wraps but there will be a big surprise going down at 10:30am morning. Be sure to be at Open Road Film's presentation in Hall H at the San Diego Convention Center.
E! also reports, following Murray's appearance, Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson will participate in their final installment of Hunger Games: Mockingjay . The Comic Con panel will be moderated by Conan O'Brien.
According to Deadline, the biggest deal for Hall H on Friday will be the panel for the upcoming film, Star Wars: The Force Awakens. On Saturday, Quentin Tarantino will make a rare convention appearance along with the rest of his cast to tease convention-goers about his upcoming film, The Hateful Eight.
Rock The Kasbah arrives in theaters on October 23.
