The first teaser trailer full of new footage from the upcoming 2015, season nine episodes of BBC's Doctor Who was just released and we also have premiere date information! After watching this new video, we can say that it's clear the people over at BBC and BBC America know how to get the attention of the series' fans (Whovians!). This trailer is full of great clips from the new episodes and shows off new characters including the special guest star Maisie Williams of Game of Thrones! Peter Capaldi, Jenna Coleman and Michelle Gomez are also featured, so make sure to watch this teaser below before the upcoming season premiere air date, which is in September!

The official Twitter accounts for the series and the networks teased followers to keep their eyes on the social media platform for a new update yesterday evening, which of course led to plenty of speculation. Would we find out the air date of the season nine premiere episode? Would we see the first footage from the upcoming season? Well, we got both!

In the first teaser trailer for the ninth season, we confirm that Missy returns for more confrontations with the Doctor and that Clara Oswald is in for even more heart wrenching adventures. Plus, the premiere date is announced: September 19, 2015! Make sure to tune in on BBC One and BBC America, depending one from where you're reading this.
Maybe the coolest part of the trailer comes after the air date is announced, where Maisie Williams appears on-screen with a confused Doctor. Who is she playing in season nine?
