Controversial radio personality Howard Stern and wife, Beth, have fostered over 47 cats and kittens, along with a few bulldogs, since 2013. They love providing the care that the animals need and work to find permanent loving homes for most of the cats. Beth in particular works with North Shore Animal League (NSAL) on Long Island, but don't think that that means Howard isn't involved and devoted as well. Care2.com says that when Beth first starting working closely with NSAL, she told Yahoo OMG that he was "was on board with me from the second I mentioned it to him. He's been my partner in this and I could not have done this without him. He cuddles them, he kisses them, and he cries when we say goodbye. He's truly incredible." They both love the cats so much so that some have become permanent members of the Stern household including Apple, Walter, Leon, Bear, Charlie Boy and Bella. They foster both kittens and disabled senior cats that are less likely to get adopted.
Stern also likes to contribute by talking about animals he's fostering while he's on the air on his Sirius XM Satellite Radio program. He talks about all of the cats very lovingly and encourages people to adopt them. However, Beth did insist that they both screen the prospective cat adopters quite strictly to make sure that the cats are going into a proper home. In fact, both Beth and Howard like to touch base with the forever homes and through their Facebook page, Bianca's Fury Friends, named after their beloved bulldog Bianca.
This is a side of the Stern that most have never witnessed before and may find it hard to believe, but he also has become more vocal about animal issues since 2012 and even refuses to eat pig. Beth has recently published a book called Yoda: The Story of a Cat and His Kittens. It is clear that he and his wife have saved many fury lives and will continue to do so. They can be an inspiration to animal activits everywhere.
