'Tomorrowland,' 'The Longest Ride' Actress Britt Robertson: 2015 Star to Watch!

Tomorrowland's leading lady, Britt Robertson, is an up and coming star and we should be keeping our eyes peeled to see what projects she's going to be releasing in 2015 and for years to come! Robertson has been in the business since 2000, but she's come a long way to get to the point where she is performing alongside George Clooney in Disney's Tomorrowland, directed by Brad Bird. She also recently starred in Nicholas Spark's The Longest Ride alondside Scott Eastwood earlier this year. At this point, the question everyone might have is "What's next?" According to MoviePilot reporter Kristin Lai, Robertson is a young star that we should all be watching.

Lai got the opportunity to interview writer Damon Lindelof (Lost and Prometheus) at a premiere of Disney's sci-fi adventure film and the topic of Robertson came up.

Lindelof describes the actress as "charming" and "quirky" and it's obvious that she was a great fit right from the start. Lindelof goes on to talk about her audition and how she may have worked before (Scream 4 and Dan in Real Life, but mainly TV shows and TV movies up until that point), she was really a fresh face to him and that it was a neat experience to cast someone not as well-known. In particular, what got her the part was the fact that Lindelof was looking for specific qualities. He explained, saying, "But most importantly, she needed to embody this optimism and I think that this idea, particularly for young people, for teenagers these days, for someone to come out and say, 'I think the future's going to be awesome!' All of their friends would just kind of like snort at them - there's a way that Britt does that without seeming like a nerd that I think is really admirable."

Despite the fact that Tomorrowland wasn't the smash hit Disney had hoped for, it's clear that 2015 has been a great year for Robertson and we can expect that she will keep showing up on the big screen! Her next project that will be coming out later this year is a movie starring Eddie Murphy and Natascha McElhone called Henry Joseph Church. Keep your eyes peeled for the trailer!
