Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson did not really enjoy the whirlwind fame and success associated with the "Twilight" film franchise. So now, both talented celebrities continue focusing on "indie" projects, instead. And it seems to be working quite well despite their highly-publicized break-up several years ago!

Stewart's recent drama "Clouds of Sils Maria" won vast critical acclaim, while her work in "Camp X-Ray" was also strongly praised. Up next, "Equals" and "Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk." And of course the summer stoner flick, "American Ultra" -
Finally, the 25-year-old "Still Alice" starlet feels comfortable in her own skin:
"Between ages 15 and 20, it was really intense. I was constantly anxious," K-Stew explained in an exclusive Marie Claire interview. "I was kind of a control freak. If I didn't know how something was going to turn out, I would make myself ill, or just be locked up or inhibited in a way that was really debilitating... At one point, you just let go and give yourself to your life. I have finally managed that and I get so much more out of life. I've lived hard for such a young person, and I've done that to myself - but I've come out the other end not hardened but strong. I have an ability to persevere that I didn't have before. It's like when you fall on your face so hard. And the next time, you're like, 'Yeah, so? I've fallen on my face before.'"
As for Pattinson, fans still love his work in smaller films including "Cosmpolis," "The Rover," "Maps to the Stars," and "Queen of the Desert." Now rumors suggest that the 29-year-old British heartthrob was just cast in a new bank heist flick entitled "Good Time" (via Hollywood Reporter). Popular movie director David Cronenberg also lauded R-Patz's success with the Daily Beast earlier this year:
"I think he's a really good actor, and I think he was an underrated actor because of the stiffness and silliness of 'Twilight' and those characters in it. But seeing other work that he had done and seeing that he was a serious actor and looking for challenges, and wasn't trying to 'manage his image' as a star, was attractive to me... And, of course, being such a big celebrity is helpful because it will help your film get financed, but the charisma that made him work so well as Edward Cullen is something you want in a movie like 'Cosmopolis' where he's in every scene in the movie... You need someone who's infinitely watchable. But once you're on the set, he's just a sweetheart. Totally professional, really accessible, and funny. And a terrific actor" (via DesignNTrend).
Despite their ultimate split, are Robsten supporters at least happy that both ex-lovers managed to grow and learn from such young Hollywood love and heartbreak?
