Legendary heavy metal band, Black Sabbath has released the name and the date of their new album, Jan. 13.
This will be the first album that the band will be rolling out with singer and band frontman Ozzy Osbourne after 35 years. The album is titled "13" with its release due in June.
The band's original members - Ozzy Osbourne, guitarist Tony Iommi and bassist Geezer Butler had announced of their reunion in tail end of 2011. The original drummer of Black Sabbath, Bill Ward has decided not reunite with the band, though he has stated that he would like to play some role in the future of band. But according to Classic Rock Magazine this is very unlikely. Rage Against The Machine's drummer Brad Wilk will be playing for the band instead.
The album has been produced by famous American record producer and co-president of Columbia Records, Rick Rubin. This will be the nineteenth Black Sabbath album since they release their first in 1970.
Osbourne admitted that "tension" in the band as they sat down to write new material after years of gap.
"Black Sabbath is very unique in the respect that nothing is formulated. It's very unpredictable. I just hope the people who have waited all these years aren't disappointed," Osbourne said.
Thought he band was scheduled to tour extensively in 2012, they were not able due to Iommi's cancer, "What a year! Certainly not the one I was expecting. Thanks to you all for your massive help and support. It was very encouraging. I'm looking forward to seeing what you think of the record and touring as much as we're able," Iommi said, Classic Rock Magazine reported.
