Sigi Schmid, coach of the Sounders talked to reporters this week about taking on the confident Rapids tonight.

"Obviously, they're coming off two wins, so they're very happy about that," the coach told the press. "They've done a good job getting those two wins, so they're a team right now that's got a little bit of confidence. We have to be ready. We have to be sharp."

Meanwhile, Rapids coach Pablo Mastroeni explained how his team isn't complacent with their recent streak of luck.

"For every positive in life, there's a counter. You have to give something to get something," Mastroeni said, according to MSLSoccer.com. "The hardest thing in soccer is to strike that balance [between attacking and defending]. For me it's finding that balance between good structure and allowing the guys to be in front of the goal with more numbers. A great defensive foundation provides the attacking players with enough confidence to express themselves."
