It's being reported that famed character actor Alex Rocco has died at the age of 79. The Hollywood legend had roles in the likes of The Godfather, The Simpsons, A Bug's Life and more recently in the Starz series Magic City.
The Hollywood Reporter notes that Rocco died this past Saturday. His death was announced on Facebook with no details being released. His daughter Jennifer was the one who announced his death, writing, "Alex Rocco aka Alessandro Federico Petricone, Jr. passed away just hours ago on July 18, 2015. February 29, 1936 – July 18, 2015 RIP Dad, be with Mom and Marc....I will see you but not for a while...."

Along with the projects mentioned above, Rocco was a versatile actor, appearing in Get Shorty, Family Guy and even Starsky and Hutch.
Variety reports that he's survived by his wife Shannon Wilcox, his aforementioned daughter Jennifer, his son Lucien and his grandson.
