Comedian Norm Macdonald appears to have some rather questionable opinions on current Late Night host Seth Meyers. The comments come after hearing the latter disagreed with the way he told Eddie Murphy's refusal to portray Bill Cosby during the famed 40th anniversary episode of Saturday Night Live. When asked what he thinks about Late Night with Seth Meyers, MacDonald admitted, "It's not something I would do."
The former SNL player was appearing on HuffPost Live to discuss his new job as a judge on Last Comic Standing. During the interview, host Josh Zepps shared with Macdonald Meyers's comment on The Howard Stern Show, in which he admitted that he wouldn't have told the Eddie Murphy story the way Macdonald did. His full quote reads:
"I wouldn't have told it. I feel the same way. I think if you're at SNL, you're seeing so many different things behind the scenes... There are often things to give away that are yours to give away. Norm played it in a way that is very Norm Macdonald."
To that, Macdonald responded, "I always think what would Seth Meyers do?" He further noted that the situation is "ridiculous" and joked if you want to be really funny you need to think, "What would make Seth Meyers laugh?"
And after being asked his thoughts about Late Night, Macdonald was quick to respond that it wasn't something he would do.
Folks, what are your thoughts on Macdonald's comments regarding Seth Meyers? How about Meyers's comments regarding Macdonald? How about Macdonald's comments regarding Eddie Murphy? How about Murphy's comments regarding Bill Cosby? How about... okay, we're done.
