Limited Too, the much beloved '90s clothing store for tween and teen girls, is reopening. The brand was bought by Bluestar Alliance, who plans to open stores up in 2016. They're aiming to open 200 stores over the next five years.
'90s girls everywhere are rejoicing over this comeback. Limited Too was a symbol of young teenhood in the '90s and early 2000s. The brand targeted the middle school group — and to be cool, you had to be wearing Limited Too.
"We are going to bring it all back," said Ralph Gindi of Bluestar.
The brand is fondly remembered for closely following trends and fads. They put glitter on just about anything they could get their hands on, along with their signature flower.
"Limited Too was where a tween began learning to be a teen," New York Magazine declared.
Some celebrities had their start in the treasured Limited Too catalogue. Before she was in Mean Girls, Amanda Seyfried modeled for Limited Too. And who modeled with her? None other than Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester.
Limited Too stores closed up around 2008 with the recession, but now they're ready to come back with new management. Bluestar says they intend to hold onto Limited Too's values of being a haven for girls.
"We will engage in a social media and marketing blitz that will have a clear and concise message to both the tween consumer and her mom, that 'It's time to have fun shopping again,'" Joey Gabbay of Bluestar said.
Over the years, twenty-something girls have waxed nostalgic over the old stronghold of Limited Too. Bustle recalled some of the signature looks of the brand, which included leggings under everything, cropped sweaters, camisoles and capris.
We can't wait to see what Limited Too brings on for today's teenage crew — which may in fact include the daughters of some of the original shoppers.
