Chicago's troubled rapper Chief Keef is starting his New Year with quite a bang. He has been ordered to spend two months in juvenile detention for violation of his probation terms.

The judge has ordered his detention at the Illinois Youth Center in St. Charles, Illinois after he was found guilty of violating his terms of probation. The rapper was convicted by Judge Carl Anthony Walker said, "There is a clear record of a disregard for the court's authority," Jan. 16.

Keef, whose real name is Keith Cozart, had violated his terms of probation when he gave an interview to Pitchfork Media firing a gun at a gun range back in July last year.

He also asked the judge to consider overturning his sentencing going into tears several times but the judge was adamant with his ruling as Keef actions at the gun range were "blatant violations of the court's order," HipHopDX reported.

50 Cent Reacts To Keef's Detention

News of Keef's detention did not shock the hip hop community as they had seen this coming.

"With Chief Keef, it's unfortunate to hear that he's actually locked up," 50 Cent told MTV. "I feel bad, because I feel like I knew that was gonna happen. I knew what continues to happen afterwards if you let it spiral out of control."

"Chief Keef, I think he has something, obviously. Even within the system, no one has done anything for Chief Keef. He's still just this raw music, raw talent, because he shot all of these music videos in the living room," he added.

Keef Sued For $75,000

Keef's worries have only gotten bigger. He has been sued by a Washington, D.C.-based promotion company Team Major, LLC with a lawsuit after he failed to turn up at a show at Indigo 02 Arena in London back in December, AllHipHop reported.

The company is seeking $75,000 for the show he missed as repayment money.
