She might be a judge at the "American Idol" or might even rise the temperature with her hot body and voice or her feuds with rapper Nicki Minaj might keep her occupied in the sets, but pop idol Mariah Carey has other things to worry about when she returns home.
Carey, 42, opens up on her husband, comedian and rapper, Nick Cannon and her motherhood and explains how it all happened to In Touch, Entertainmentwise reported.
Carey met Cannon when she was shooting the music video for her single "Bye Bye." They married after dating for six weeks at her private estate on Windermere Island in The Bahamas, April 2008. They had initially met in 2005 and were friends. But after meeting Cannon, her priorities in life changed.
"I never thought I'd experience motherhood. My career was my life," Carey said.
"When you find the right person, you (want to) go through with it," she explained. Carey and Cannon have cute twins named Moroccan and Monroe who were born in April 2011. Carey credits Cannon for making her experience the joy of motherhood.
"He's my little buddy," says the popular singer of her son, Moroccan. "We watch movies together. He can be a little more aggressive, but not in a bad way - he'll give his sister a little tap when she's trying to give him a hug. Monroe is just a sweetie."
Though they got married within six weeks, drawing criticism that their marriage might end quickly, it's been five strong and happy years for Carey and Cannon.
"I'm so in love. Every moment is just incredible," said Carey.
Carey will be part of historical movie directed by Lee Daniels "The Butler." The movie is expected to release sometime in 2013.
