Philadelphia rapper Meek Mill is seeking damages after police had detained him without any charge back in November 2012.

Mill who has signed on to Mayback Music Group label had missed his release party for his debut album "Dreams and Nightmare" in Atlanta, after police detained him for no reason. They did not even charge him with anything, HipHopWired reported.

He had vented out his anger with the message Twitter post "cops cost me a lot of money tonight .....taking pics of me like I'ma fuckin joke....no charges just holding me for shit! my lawyer need answers." He also posted an Instagram picture of him being handcuffed.

Mill whose real name is Robert Williams was detained for nine hours and is "suing police officers Andre Boyer and Michael Varga and the city of Philadelphia" for "litany of charges, including false imprisonment, civil rights violations, civil conspiracy and invasion of privacy," HipHopDX reported.

The complaint read: "On October 31, 2012, at approximately 7:30 p.m., plaintiff was driving a Range Rover SUV when Philadelphia Police Officers Andre Boyer and Michael Vargas, without cause or justification, conducted a motor vehicle stop. Following the vehicle stop, police officers Boyer and Vargas handcuffed plaintiff at the scene, transported him in custody to the 22nd Police District, took photographs of plaintiff which the officers posted and published...on Instagram and other social media websites, depicting plaintiff in police custody...without being charged with any criminal activity and having caused plaintiff to miss a scheduled promotional appearance in Atlanta, Georgia."
