After news broke that Britney Spears would not return to "The X Factor" for her second season, the pop princess leveraged her star power and now has three Las Vegas hotels engulfed in a bidding war to have her headline her own show at their property.
Spears, 31, began her negotiations with one of the Caesars properties to have her own "big, nightly" show like Celine Dion, TMZ reported, adding that Caesars has been "wooing her for awhile."
This week, sources told TMZ that two other hotels in Las Vegas not affiliated with Caesars stepped up to secure the "Toxic" singer for their location. Sources said Spears has been in negotiations for a lucrative Las Vegas headlining deal for quite some time. The names of the other two hotels have yet to be identified but the potential deal would help Spears rake in even more money than Celine Dion had for her show.
Dion, 44, reportedly made $100 million to perform 210 shows over the course of three years in Las Vegas at the Caesar's Palace Colosseum, the Daily Beast reported.
Spears, however, could make even more - an expert told E! Spears could pull in $2 million per week. That would help the pop singer earn about $144 million per year, according to Daren Libonati, president and CEO of the promotion and production company Justice Entertainment Group.
"Deals such as this are based on scale," Libonati told E!. "That's a very basic guess on what such a deal might look like. It could be even more. It's good branding for whoever signs with her.
Enstars reported on Jan. 10 that Spears quit "The X Factor USA" after one season and according to reports it was because she found out she would not be asked to return for season three.
"Spears was not going to be asked back and so she will not return for season three," a source told The Hollywood Reporter.
Another source said Spears quit before Cowell fired her for being "boring."
"The reality is that toward the end of last season the main players knew they wanted to replace both Britney and LA Reid," a source told Mail Online. "Britney's judging was heavily criticized throughout the last season, with critics dubbing her 'boring.' "
The source added that Spears also left because "her team knew it was unlikely she'd be asked back as a judge."
