'Empire' Couple Trai Byers & Grace Gealey Engaged! [PHOTOS]

These two found love in the workplace! MStars News has learned that Empire star, Trai Byers, popped the question to his co-star, Grace Gealey, and now the couple is engaged!

According to PEOPLE, the two lovebirds are keeping details on the hush, hush, but it's some exciting news considering that Gealey plays Byers step-mother on the show. In season two, fans will probably be looking for hints of their real life chemistry while on camera.

If you are a frequent Empire viewer, then you probably remember when Gealey, who plays the character of Anika Calhoun in the show, stirred the pot by sleeping with her stepson, Hakeem Lyon [Bryshere Gray], in the season finale. MStars News wonders if she will be moving on to her off-camera love, Byers, [Andre Lyon] in the new season to match up with their real-life romance.

According to US Magazine, Byers asked his co-star to be his wife on her 31st birthday, Sunday, July 26. "He surprised her on her birthday," a source revealed. "He popped the question and she was totally surprised and elated. She can't stop looking at the ring! They celebrated all night." In the snapshot below, Byers summed up the special night in a collage that read: "Had so much fun celebrating @gracegealey's life!! Happy Birthday to an exquisite human being! Thank you @kinmontchicago for hosting us. Amazing spot, wonderful food, UNFORGETTABLE night."

If you take a close look at the bottom right photo, you can see that Gealey is indeed wearing her new engagement ring. Gealey also shared a collage of her big day...

During the engagement/birthday celebration, the magazine noted that some of their Empire co-stars were in the house. MStars News is pretty sure co-star, Kaitlin Doubleday, was present. She too wished her friend a happy birthday.

MStars News previously learned that Byers and Gealey were dating back in March when the two were spotted at a friend's wedding together.

There's been a lot of good news for the cast of Empire. Taraji P. Henson earned an Emmy nomination for her role as Cookie Lyon on the show and her husband [on the show] Terrence Howard [Lucious Lyon] and his real life wife, Miranda, welcomed their first child together back in the Spring.
