Besides the action, intrigue, "Bond Girls," and iconic villains, every James Bond film in a long franchise of movies has an incredible theme song for the opening title sequence. In 2012's Skyfall, Adele blew us all away with her single, garnering an Oscar for the recording, so who will follow in her footsteps for the 2015 007 release, Spectre? Director Sam Mendes teased us earlier this month saying we'd hear it soon and now reports are claiming British songstress Ellie Goulding could be singing this coveted theme. A new song entitled "Spy" turned up on her BMI registration, and her recent Instagram and Twitter activity is leading us to believe she's the one! Read more on this below.

"I can say that the song's been recorded and it's fantastic and I'm very excited about it," the director said, according to Coming Soon. "You won't have to wait long."
Coinciding with this news was an Instagram post from Goulding leaving Abbey Road studios announcing "That's a wrap," adding more fuel to the gossip fire. Check it out right here (via Metro):
Plus, this Twitter post was clearly a reference to the 1970's Bond film:
Live and let die — Ellie Goulding (@elliegoulding) July 9, 2015
According to Showbiz 411, Goulding has a number of songs registered with BMI, but our attention is on the one entitled "Spy." This isn't exactly a great title, but we'll have to see how the songstress handles it. "Spectre" would be a pretty cool title and theme for a song, by the way.

Recently, Sam Smith was at the top of these rumors, but it looks like we're going to hear Goulding ahead of the film this November in theaters.
