The highly anticipated hacker drama, Mr. Robot, continues on USA Network. During tonight's Episode 6, as Angela (Portia Doubleday) slips into her own dark side, will Elliot (Rami Malek) and anarchist Mr. Robot (Christian Slater) "succeed or fail" as they finally use their "raspberry pi?"
In our previous recap, Elliot has plans to hit Steel Mountain, one of the database centers for Evil Corp. Unfortunately, just as the plan came into fruition, Elliot suffered from withdrawal symptoms as he struggled to stay clean from his own drug usage. Realizing she needs to take care of herself, Angela incriminated her boyfriend as she hacked into her own cyber security firm, All Safe.
In our recent recap, Elliot ended up meeting with Evil Corp's SVP of Technology Tyrell Wellick (Martin Wallström), who has no intentions of turning him in to the police. While Tyrell continues to scheme his way to the top, Mr. Robot's plan to hit Evil Corp was derailed when another hacking group dropped out. When Elliot returned home, he suddenly found his girlfriend, Shayla, missing.
In an interview with Vulture, technical assistant Michael Bazzell discusses the accuracy of Elliot's raspberry pi controlling the temperature and melting Evil Corp's data, "Sam and Kor had already done much of the research on raspberry pi, and this was just another way Mr. Robot uses current and real technology versus fictional technology that doesn't exist in real life. Despite a raspberry pi basically being a smaller computer and quite common - anyone in my community knows about raspberry pi and uses them frequently - I have never seen one onscreen before."

Bazzell adds, "That was my technical involvement in the episode. If it is simply placed into a network, it does nothing, but if you have a raspberry pi with a connection available to it, such as through a cellular network and its access, you can be anywhere in the world and still connect to the device. And those were the tweaks I worked on to add to the script, making sure the raspberry pi would be accessible remotely."
Mr. Robot continues Wednesdays at 10pm on USA.
Readers, are you excited to see tonight's all-new Mr. Robot?
