Kim Richards Arrested for Stealing in Target: 'RHOBH' Star Homeless?

Kim Richards was apparently living out of her car when she decided to steal from Target in Van Nuys, California over the weekend. According to TMZ, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star was house-hopping after she was released from rehab last month and she ran out of friends and family members who would extend their hospitality.

The infamous gossip site claims that sources revealed that the troubled star has been homeless after getting the boot from family and friends. TMZ also claims that Richards has been "self-medicating" herself and it's unclear if she was under the influence of alcohol or something else when she stole $600 worth of items from Target.

According to Page Six, Richards was charged with one count of petty theft.

"Richards was caught by store security attempting to take more than 100 items valued at approximately $612. They were in the shopping cart and she was not concealing them. She just rolled on out," a spokesman for the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office stated.

Target loss prevention officers took Richards into custody after she took the not paid for items in a cart into the parking lot around 4:25 p.m. the Van Nuys Police Department said.

One law enforcement source described Richards actions as weird and revealed that she exited the store with more than 50 items in her shopping cart.

Richards spent Sunday night in jail, and was later released on Monday afternoon after she posted $5,000 bail. Richards pleaded not guilty to the misdemeanor charge and will need to show up in court for a pre-trial date on Aug. 20.

"I'm not aware that she was under the influence although toxicology is not generally done with shoplifting cases," the LA city attorney's spokesperson claimed.

Kim's family is desperate to help the reality star and actress but are unsure how to help her at this point.

If Richards is found guilty of the misdemeanor charge, the former child star could face up to six months in jail and/or a $1,000 fine.

This isn't the first time Kim has been in trouble with the law. MStars News previously reported that Kim was arrested earlier this year after she caused a scene at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Following that arrest, she later checked in rehab and then announced that she was sober soon after.

"I love sobriety," Richards previously stated. "I've always loved sobriety and relapsing was very hard for me. I really wanted to go to treatment because I needed a break from what I was going through at home."

After hearing that Richards had been arrested again, fans took to Twitter to comment.

They said #KimRichards couldn't get arrested in Hollywood anymore, so she went to the Valley to shoplift.
