AMC leaves the gaming world with the Season 2 finale of Halt And Catch Fire. If Season 3 of Halt and Catch Fire is granted, will Joe MacMillan (Lee Pace) find forgiveness from Cam (Mackenzie Davis), Gordon (Scoot McNairy), and Donna (Kerry Bishe)? Or has become too "irredeemable?"

The second season started with Cameron and Donna struggling to keep their online gaming business afloat, especially when their electricity gets knocked out. Even though Gordon has enough money to support his wife and his kids, his depression and cocaine addiction is starting to take a toll. Though Joe has proposed to his girlfriend, Sarah, he still thinks about Cameron from time to time.

According to the recap by IGN, Joe ended up stealing Gordon's idea and started his own anti-virus software business. Though her husband had on affair, Donna forced Gordon to help her and the kids move to California and fix their marriage. Cameron though believes a new beginning is waiting for her in California, which will help her business, Mutiny, succeed. As everyone else ponders their future, Joe stares at the window, looking over at San Francisco.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, showrunner Jonatha Lisco teases there are plans underway for a possible third season, "[Co-creators] Chris [Rogers], Chris [Cantwell] and I have bounced around ideas around for season three a couple of major times. We have some pretty cool tentpole ideas for where we'd go in season three. We have not formally pitched it to the network, largely because they haven't asked, and if we're given more time to hone it, we'll take it. We're definitely not staring at each other wondering what's going to happen next."

Lisco also adds if Joe is too far gone from redemption as he returns to his old ways, "When [Joe's] standing at those windows at the end of episode 10, there is a little Phil Abraham-esque, 'I'm surveying my kingdom.' But for us, there's also a sense of, "Holy cow - look out." Joe 1.0, who was a Machiavellian schemester, did not achieve his ends. So he decided to be a good person in season two. Well, guess what? That made things worse. What is a Joe in season three who has no moral compass and has now been betrayed by both of the women he loved going to look like?"
