The CW Network currently has plans for Season 2 of The Flash. Just like he did on the 1990's version of The Flash, will John Wesley Shipp (Henry Allen) end up putting on Barry Allen (now played by Grant Gustin)'s scarlet speedster costume again?
In our first season recap, Barry Allen finally woke up from his coma, after being struck by lightning. Suddenly given super-speed powers, Barry belonged to a small group of friends, Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker), and Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes), who knew his secret identity. They worked together against super villains, including Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller), and teamed up with The Arrow (Stephen Amell). But they never realized their true enemy was lurking among them, the Reverse-Flash (Tom Cavanagh).
According to the official DC Comics website, you can now stream every episode of the original The Flash series, starring Shipp as Central City's superhero. Every episode can be seen on their online channel, the CW Seed. Listen to the theme which was composed by director Tim Burton's favorite composer, Danny Elfman (Batman: The Animated Series).
With Shipp as Barry Allen, you can see this actor's influence on today's superhero dramas, such as Amell on Arrow. The original TV Show had Amanda Pays as Tina McGee and Mark Hamill had a recurring role as the super villain, The Trickster. We have 5 reasons why we were so excited to see the reunion between Mark Hamill and John Wesley Shipp on the CW's The Flash.
As we previously mentioned, Shipp answered fan's questions during a Q&A session at Missouri's Cape Comic Con. When a fan asked if Barry's grandson, Bart Allen aka Impulse, would pop up on the show, Shipp is quoted as saying, "They're already talking about that. Think of the amount of story that we have burned through in eighteen episodes...They're talking about all that stuff."
The Flash will return for Season 2 on the CW October 6.
