FX 'The Strain' Season 2 Recap: Episode 5: Corey Stoll, Mia Maestro Die "Quick & Painless?"

The Season 2 of The Strain continues on FX. Based on Guillermo Del Toro's bestselling novels, published by Dark Horse Comics, in Episode 5, are Ephraim Goodweather (Corey Stoll) and Nora Martinez (Mia Maestro) ready to fight face a Quick And Painless death?

The military police evacuate a building, checking each room, and discover one of Kelly's vampire children. After taking down the military team, Kelly Goodweather (Natalie Brown) sings to her children when they return to her. 

At a club, Eph pays to get a new name, government identification, and license. Abraham meets with Alonzo Creem (Jamie Hector) to help him find his ancient book, the Occido Lumen. Abraham holds a sword to Alonzo's throat, forcing him to show him some books.

Now that he was a new weapon against the vamps, Eph has to keep moving. Unfortunately, Nora cannot go with Eph and has to help Dutch (Ruta Gedmintas) bail Vasiliy Fet (Kevin Durand) out of prison. In the bathroom, Eph drinks as he cuts off his own hair. 

Now bad and with a new suit, even Zach (Max Charles) is impressed with Eph's new look. As Zach hugs his father before he leaves, Dutch and Nora offer their assistance to Councilwoman Justine Feraldo (Samantha Mathis) under one condition; get Fet out of jail. Ret and Dutch offer to help the military police as soon as they hear about the "spider" kids.

Eph makes his way into the train, unfortunately Dr. Ben Barnes is one of the passengers. Abraham then offers money to Alonzo Creem to help him find his ancient book. Nora helps Justine check up on the infected and unaffected. After checking up on Justine's infected nephew, Nora explains how there is no cure from the parasitic worms.

Fet, Dutch, and the military police at the center of Red Hook. After shooting their way through some vamps, they realize something has traveled through the ventilation shaft and capture the bloodsucker.. Dutch then drops a silver grenade on a vampire nest hiding at the bottom of the elevator shaft.

Nora helps Justine kill her nephew before he is fully transformed from the bite. In the streets, Abraham has a confrontation with Reggie Fitzwilliam (Roger Cross), who wants to help.  ph then finds himself cornered in the train as the police make medical checkups. After being questioned, Eph finally meets with Dr. Barnes. 

Eph manages to take down Barnes and throw him off the train. During Palmer's dinner date with his assistant. he discovers the ancient book may be turning up soon. As the two return to office, they dance together as a building burns outside the window. 

Finally at Washington D.C., Eph makes it through security check and wanders into the streets. Elsewhere, an airplane arrives and delivers a deadlier threat. A car awaits for mysterious vampire hunter with a sword made of bones.
