Recently, the NYPD announced a $2,500 reward for anyone that speaks up about late rapper's Chinx's murder. His wife, Janelli Caceres-Pickens says that police are closing in on leads.
During an interview with Hot 97's Ebro in the Morning, Janelli revealed that she is in contact with investigators and they are close to getting Chinx's killer.
"I just spoke to a detective the other day and he informed me that they do have strong leads their following up on and I'll be in communication with them sometime next week."
She explained that she won't stop until someone is caught and held responsible for killing her husband, "I just keep faith. I refuse to just let it go and be brushed under the rug. There's no reason we should be in tis predicament. He didn't deserve it. This is not a form of retaliation that he did to somebody. I don't care what he rapped about, he wasn't living that lifestyle. His life revolved around doing his music and taking care of his family and there's no reason that we should be in this situation."
May 17, the 31-year-old rapper was shot and killed in a drive by in the Briarwood section of New York. The family released a statement on his official Instagram page and asked for privacy during this rough time, "To all the fans, and people who have supported Chinx on his journey, on behalf of his family, close friends, and management team, we say, Thank You! Your kind words are appreciated. We ask that the family's privacy be respected in this time of bereavement. Memorial arrangements will be announced shortly.
