Both LA and Kansas City snag high spots in ESPN.com's official break-down of all 30 teams (power rankings):
Angels (11): "Newcomers David Murphy, David DeJesus and Shane Victorino have yet to provide much offense, hitting .178 in 73 at-bats with two walks, 21 strikeouts and seven RBIs." David Schoenfield, SweetSpot
Los Angeles currently maintains a steady 59-54 winning record and remains 2nd in the American League Western Division.
Royals (2): "They're on pace for 97 wins, which would tie the second-highest mark in franchise history with the 1980 team that reached the World Series. The 1977 team, which went 24-1 from Aug. 31 to Sept. 25, won 102 games." David Schoenfield, SweetSpot
With that, Kansas City holds an impressive 68-45 winning record and is now 1st in the American League Central Division.
The Thursday evening ballgame will be broadcasted live on local sports channels FSW and FSKC.
