Singer Janelle Monae stopped by The Today Show on Friday morning to perform during the NBC show's Toyota Concert Series. Her performance, while electrifying, is causing headlines to surface because it looked as if the show might have cut off Monae during an alleged discussion on #BlackLivesMatter.
The supposed cut-off came during a performance of "Hell You Talmabout." Monae reportedly began discussing police brutality as the song was ending, and after a quick comment about black America, the anchor's came in to throw to commercial.
"God bless all the lives lost to police brutality," Monae shouted to the crowd as the song was wrapping up. "We want white America to know that we stand tall today. We want black America to know we stand tall today. We will not be silenced!"

And here is Monae's full performance. For the possible #BlackLivesMatter cut, head over to the 15-minute mark:
#BlackLivesMatter focuses on the repeated attacks on black teens, men and women from white police officers, much of which have been popularized due to cell phone cameras and dashboard cameras. The movement came largely after the murder of Ferguson's Mike Brown, the death of Eric Garner, the killings in a South Carolina church at the hands of Dylann Roof, and many more.
Folks, what do you think: Did Today deliberately cut Monae off during her speech?
