On Monday Night Raw John Cena ripped another legendary promo before a big match – a sign that Cena is ready to tear the roof off the Barclay Center and call Brooklyn his kingdom – and said Seth Rollins would simply be a trivia question for "Who did John Cena beat to tie Ric Flair?" Anytime Cena brought up that he'd be a 16-time champion a smattering of woo's filled the arena in Minnesota. This idea of Cena tying Flair has been going around for quite some time and its only fitting that Ric Flair himself has commented on it. According to Flair, he'd be thrilled to see it.
You can watch Cena's promo below:
On his WOOOOO! Nation! Podcast Flair said he's all for it:
"I'd be thrilled if John Cena tied my record and surpassed it. I think the world of John and he has been the flagship for the company for a long time and if John were to catch that title again and then he can surpass the record, I would be very proud of him," Flair said.
Being this is a huge milestone for Cena the Internet has of course reacted harshly. Naturally Cena responded in the most Cena-way possible on Twitter.
Call up the interweb, sounds impossible, but tell em they're about to hate me sixteen times more than they already do.

This Sunday on the WWE Network Seth Rollins and John Cena will face each other at Summerslam and all belts are on the line. At the end one of the competitors will have a chance to be both the WWE World Heavyweight Champion and United States Champion.
This is a feat that hasn't been accomplished since Booker T in 2001 when he was the reigning United States Champion and World Heavyweight Champion.
