The football season hasn't even started yet and the Carolina Panthers already need a miracle! MStars News has learned that the Charlotte, North Carolina football team will be missing one of their most valuable players due to injury. The Panthers' number one wide receiver, Kelvin Benjamin, will be out the entire season after he suffered a torn ACL to his left knee during Wednesday's practice.

According to ESPN, Benjamin's injury was confirmed during an MRI screening this week. The incident occurred when Benjamin took part in a one-on-one pass drill against Miami Dolphins safety Reshad Jones during their joint practice.

"Obviously, we feel awful for Kelvin," Dave Gettleman, Panthers general manager, said during a statement. "He's worked tremendously hard to put himself in a position to have a strong year. We're confident he will attack his surgery and rehab with the same determination he has met all challenges before."

Most likely to replace the 6 feet 5 player is rookie Devin Funchess. He was selected as the second round pick out of Michigan in the 2015 draft. But the Panthers do have some other options, according to the Charlotte Observer.

Funchess also was hurt during Wednesday's practice in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The 21-year-old suffered a hamstring injury and is probably out for Thursday's joint practice. Devastated Panther fans sent their reactions to Benjamin's torn ACL news via Twitter.

Hopefully this injury doesn't ruin the Panthers' season.
