Katie Couric And Larry King Date Awkward: He 'Lunged' At Her After 'Romantic', 'Calls It Bad Lifetime Movie', Twitter Reacts [Video]

Katie Couric told Jimmy Kimmel that she went on a date with Larry King when she was 30-years-old and he was 23 years her senior and the broadcasting veteran "lunged" at her.

Couric was living in Washington D.C. when she agreed to go on a date with King and says everything went well, he picked her up in a Lincoln Town Car, ate at an Italian restaurant, and later drove back to his home, "And what can I say, he lunged," Couric told Jimmy Kimmel. She added, "I started laughing a little because the whole situation was like out of a bad Lifetime movie. So I said 'Larry, you're such an interesting, nice man, but I would like to meet someone a little closer to my age."

Although, very creepy, Couric made tried to make light of the awkward moment and King's kid friendly version still didn't help settle stomachs across America, "We went out to dinner, a nice Italian restaurant, we drove home, thought we were kind of romantic, we get to her door, in the apartment house and she said, 'Oh, I have a roommate,' '' he said in 2009. "Then I kissed her goodnight and that was that. And we became friends ever since."
