It looks like the excentric AMC's Mad Men star, Alison Brie, is not only taken, but engaged to be married to Dave Franco (little brother of funny guy James Franco)! Yahoo! News says that Franco, 30, and Brie, 32, have been dating since January 2012. It's been common knowledge that all though they are in the public eye, their relationship has remained hush-hush for the past three years. E! News shares, "The two have remained tight-lipped about their relationship. In fact, they're so private that it's difficult to find photos of the two of them together. In the spring, they both attended the Met Gala, but walked the carpet separately." That's quite the feat in this day and age when everyone knows intricate details of all celebrities' lives.
Brie showed off her new, quite sizable ring Monday night at a screening of her new movie Sleeping With Other People, Yahoo News says. Us Weekly also heard from an inside source that Franco was excitedly discussing the engagement with his friends. "Dining at Los Angeles hot spot Sushi Park...was spotted discussing his big news with some pals. 'He ran into some people he knew and they were congratulating him on his engagement,' the source tells Us." Clearly, they are both excited and showing some glimpses of their relationship to the public eye.
The film that Alison Brie was promoting Monday night with Franco by her side is a film where she plays quite the opposite kind of character, Lainey, "a serial cheater who tries to maintain a platonic relationship with her womanizing friend Jake," People reports. The film will be released September 11th of this year and the Jason Sudeikis plays the role of Jake, "who she runs into at a 12-step program for sex addicts," E! News says.
Brie must have really found the right match for herself in Franco because not too long ago, she divulged to Elle Magazine, whilst being a single lady, that marriage wasn't really for her. "It could not be further from what I personally want," she told them, "I don't even know if I want to get married. I've never been the girl who's planning my dream wedding- I was always practising my speech for the Oscars. That was my dream, which is kind of sad but kind of great." She revealed that she believes couples feel the pressure to get married even when they don't want to. Hopefully that's not the case here. If Brie is getting married, it must be for real!
