Lamb Of God Frontman Randy Blythe In Czech Republic To Face Manslaughter Trial Against Him

Heavy metal band, Lamb of God 's frontman, Randy Blythe has flown to the Czech Republic to face the manslaughter charges against him. The trial started Feb. 4.

The vocalist posted his photo with short hair and sporting a suit and tie on Instagram. Along with the photo he dropped in a message to his fans saying "And so it begins. I am calm & prepared. Everyone, thanks for your good thoughts and prayers. Have a nice day, y'all! "

The trial is from a 2010 case when a 19-year-old fan named Daniel was allegedly pushed to the ground after he tried to climb up on to the stage where the band was performing. The family of the dead fan is seeking $530,000 in damages. If the court convicts Blythe he will have to face five to ten years in prison.

"I've kept my word. I said that I would come back to court today and I did. I do not shy away from responsibility. I'm not a person who runs away from problems. But I do not want to be punished for something I did not do. The fan's death breaks my heart. I never saw Daniel and I never came in contact with him," said Blythe, The Gauntlet reported.

The case is expected to continue till Feb. 8. According to a Czech news site Cesky Rozhlas, the prosecution is claiming that Blythe had pushed Daniel with force and he fell on the metal barrier hitting his head on the ground, resulting in internal bleeding.

Blythe said that the security at the club where they performed was inadequate and there were many fans who tried to come on the stage. But Blythe insisted that he never came into contact with Daniel.

There will be twelve witnesses called in to give testimony.
