Mamura Nasirova, a 52-year-old nanny who cared for the five-month-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roman Mardakhaev in Staten Island, NY, was arrested for child endangerment on Sunday, Feb. 3. According to reports, Mrs. Mardakhaev installed a "nanny cam" in their home after becoming suspicious of Nasirova's behavior. Last week, the family's nanny was caught on camera slapping the young child in the face, violently shaking her, and then hitting her in the legs when she wouldn't take her bottle. Mrs. Mardakhaev promptly returned home and discovered the girl with some redness and swelling, but she fortunately did not break any bones. The Mardakhaevs quickly alerted the police and Nasirova was arrested a few days later. The disturbing nanny cam footage has since been uploaded onto YouTube.
According to the New York Post, after the suspicious mother secretly installed the hidden, live feed camera into a carbon monoxide detector inside the Staten Island home, she witnessed the nanny abusing her five-month-old daughter on Jan. 28 at approximately 4:20 p.m. while shopping at the store. The live nanny cam footage shows Nasirova, a Uzbekistan-born native, bottle feeding the young child while she's lying down in a baby chair on the living room floor. When the baby won't take to the bottle, Nasirova removes it from her mouth and smacks her in the face three times. There is no sound, but it looks like the child begins to cry at this point. Nasirova then hits her on the legs and violently shakes her. The nanny hastily lifts the baby girl out of her seat and stomps out of the room. Another child was sitting on the couch throughout the ordeal, and went unharmed.
Mardakhaev watched the abuse as it occurred, and quickly returned to her Woodlawn Ave. home to alert the police. The family then posted the footage on a Russian parenting website under the "Nanny Black List" with the description:
"This woman was abusing a 5 month baby because the baby won't eat. She was caught and fired by a Jewish family that hired her."
The"Mamura Nasirova Child Abuse" video has already received over 43,000 views on YouTube:
In the police report (filed on Feb. 1), Nasirova lists her address the same as the family's. She is not a U.S. citizen and nothing else is known about the parents of the five-month-old child.
Nasirova was arrested on Sunday, Feb. 3 at about 6:15 p.m. at the Mardakhaev's home. According to court records, she fought with and resisted the cops as they tried to handcuff her. She was ultimately charged with the misdemeanors of endangering the welfare of a child and resisting arrest, according to DA spokesman Daniel Donovan.
Nasirova is currently being held in jail on Riker's Island for a $1,000 cash bail.
According to one source, the baby girl is expected to fully recover, but did suffer minor redness and swelling from the abuse.
