Spain's international team goalkeeper David De Gea has been the subject of many transfer rumors this summer, with his name linked to Real Madrid for quite some time. Considering today is Deadline Day, we were expecting to hear some great La Liga news about the 24-year-old footballer, known for his great saves during games. Unfortunately, the news is that the Premier League transfer window is closing and Manchester United apparently botched the deal that would've included a top bid for a player from the team. In what would've been a pretty easy trade between teams, De Gea would switch with Keylor Navas of Madrid, but now we're just reporting on how this didn't even happen.

According to numerous sources, including our friends at ESPN FC and Bleacher Report, Madrid is blaming United for this failed deal. Apparently, after easy talks and minor adjustments to the deal, it all came down to some paperwork, which was filed too late by the Premier League side.

In an official statement posted to Real Madrid's website, the team spelled out ten points about the deal that lead to the disagreeable end of this trade. Basically, all blame is placed on Manchester. United has yet to officially respond to these claims as the transfer window comes to a close today.

"In short, Real Madrid did everything necessary at all times to complete both transfers," the statement concludes.

You can check out this statement by following this link from the team's official Twitter page:

Madrid has the opportunity to appeal, but Spanish football expert Guillem Balague took to Twitter to formally announce that the deal is completely off.
