One of the most anticipated video games of the year is easily Mad Max from Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Avalanche Studios, taking on the post-apocalyptic world of the George Miller movies in an expansive, open-world gameplay experience. Today, Sept. 1, 2015, is the release date for the game, so we've been reading plenty of reviews to see some first impressions. Perhaps the most important reviews come from gamers though, so we've been checking out Twitter to see reactions to the gameplay from PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 players. Check out what we've learned below!

Looking over these reviews and Twitter, one thing is clear: the "Mangum Opus" car that gamers drive and customize throughout the game is one of the best aspects of the title. The open-world aspect of Mad Max makes this car vital to gameplay, so customization adds so much to the experience (via EuroGamer).
According to GameSpot's review, the fighting is also very fun and immersive. Max, as you can imagine, is a great fighter, so gamers get to experience this first-hand while playing.
Though it's great to read some reviews from trusted sources, we'd like to show off some reactions from Twitter that are sure to get you interested in playing. Here are some brief accounts of the gameplay from actual gamers:
