Apparently T-Pain actually can sing The National Anthem without his signature auto-tune! On Monday night at the Dodgers vs. Giants game at Dodger Stadium, the Tallahassee "Up Down" rapper turned singer flaunted his natural vocals, signing "The Star Spangled Banner." You can watch this video below!
With this year's MLB season in full swing, the Dodgers brought out the multi-Grammy award winning and multi-platinum selling artist, T-Pain, to sing the National Anthem, and he not only delivered, but also surprised everyone!
According to the LA Times and Hip-Hop N More, T-Pain arrived on the field sporting a Dodgers jersey and soulfully sang the National Anthem; even without his trademark auto-tune the singer passionately sang "The Star Spangled Banner." Although a few of his notes were a bit off-key, his performance was still beautiful.
T-Pain also seemed to have brought the Los Angeles Dodgers luck in their season opener, considering the fact that they beat the San Fransisco Giants by 1 run, the score ending with a 5-4, according to MLB.com. Adrian Gonzalez homered 8 innings, while Chris Hatcher pitched his career high of 3 scoreless innings. Although the Giants scored 3 runs in the 3rd inning, the Dodgers managed to pull through. Adrian Gonzalez said, "We're playing the game the right way at the right time." Clearly T-Pain's decision to rock a Dodger's jersey and sing in his natural singing voice brought the Dodgers plenty of good luck!
With T-Pain's latest single featuring Juicy J, "Make That Sh*t Work," and his fifth studio album coming up in November, Stoicville: The Phoenix, hopefully we can expect more of his natural voice rather than his signature auto-tune.
