Christopher Droner is responsible for 3 deaths: Monica Quan, Keith Lawrence, and a LAPD police officer. The former police officer is threatening to kill officers of the LAPD and their family members and has sent CNN a package claiming his innocences.
The shooting suspect wrote a 6,000-word manifesto threatening the lives of LAPD officers and their families after being fired from the LAPD in 2008. On Thursday, during the During Thursday's "Situation Room," Wolf Blitzer reported that Dorner "reached out directly to CNN" earlier and mailed a package to Cooper's office, "The package arrived on the first of February and was opened by Cooper's assistant," Blitzer reported.
The package contained, a DVD with a Post-it which read, "I never lied," referring to the Droner's 2008 dismissal for the LAPD, a coin wrapped in duct tape- a souvenir shot through with bullet holes, inscribed with "Thanks but no thanks, Will Bratton" - the former chief of the Los Angeles police department - and "IMOA" (which commonly stands for "Imagine a More Open America").
In the manifesto, Droner wrote "I never had the opportunity to have a family of my own... so I am terminating yours," he added, "Unfortunately, I will not be alive to see my name cleared. That's what this is about, my name. A man is nothing without his name. I will bring unconventional and asymmetrical warfare to those in LAPD uniform whether on or off duty," he continued. "Do not deploy airships or gunships. SA-7 Manpads will be waiting, it says, in a reference to a Russian-made shoulder-launched missile launcher. The attacks will stop when the department states the truth about my innocence."
