The September 2, 2015 episode of WWE's NXT will kick off the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament. The show will air on the WWE Network, but if you can't watch there, then try here or here, both of which broadcast free live streams of the show (this may require downloading a torrent).
The company has not released a bracket for this tournament, nor do we know all the teams involved. But there are several teams down in NXT, so let's run through them and see who can participate in this memorial event.
Enzo Amore and Colin Cassidy are still unbelievably over, as evidenced by the 15,000 fans chanting along with their entrance last week. These two also fought in an eight-man tag team match at the Barclays Center, and the other competitors in that match could wind up in the tournament, too. As a refresher, those wrestlers are The Hype Bros (Zack Ryder and Mojo Rawley), Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder, and Chad Gable and Jason Jordan.
Baron Corbin and Rhyno have also been announced as a team for the tournament, as has former NXT Champion Neville (who asked General Manager William Regal for a spot in the match) and a partner to be determined. And remember, Neville is also a two-time NXT Tag Team Champion.
We also must consider the current champions, The Vaudevillains, and Wesley Blake and Buddy Murphy, all of whom could be in the tournament.
We should all have plenty of fun watching this tournament, which wraps up at the next NXT Takeover live special on October 3.
Last week, the NXT women went at it in a Fatal Four Way match, which had a bizarre finish in which Emma scored the pin. It looked like a botched ending based on how confused everyone was, but no matter what, the Australian is now the main contender to Bayley's NXT Women's Championship.
Finn Balor is still NXT Champion after he defeated Kevin Owens at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn in a ladder match. The champion now needs a challenger, but with so many people participating in the Dusty Rhodes tournament (such as Baron Corbin), who is left? Owens seems fixed on the main roster now. Tyler Breeze is a possibility, along with Samoa Joe and Apollo Crews.
