WWE 'NXT' Results 9/2/15: First Two Matches in 'Dusty Rhodes Tag Team' Tournament

The September 2, 2015 episode of WWE's NXT returns to Full Sail University and features the first two matches in The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. We've got the full results for you right here, so let's get to it and see what went down during the broadcast.

The Ascension faces Baron Corbin and Rhyno in the opening match of the night. Viktor and Konnor go for the Fall of Man to end the match, but Corbin distracts them long enough for Rhyno to Gore Konnor for the win.

Backstage, Neville is with his tag team partner, Solomon Crowe. Neville says he is honored to be a part of this tournament, and Crowe goes on record as saying they're going to win the whole thing.

Alexa Bliss defeats Blue Pants with the Sparkle Splash.

Backstage, General Manager William Regal discusses the Dusty Rhodes tournament with Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa. Tyler Breeze then comes in and says he wants to enter the tournament. Regal grants his request and says that next week, Prince Pretty will take on Gargan and Ciampa with his partner, Bull Dempsey.

Apollo Crews defeat Martin Stone with an enziguri, a gorilla press slam, and a standing moonsault.

Backstage, Jason Jordan and Chad Gable say tonight, the Man That Gravity Forgot will fly too close to the sun. Why? Because they are ready, willing, and Gable.

Eva Marie faces Billie Kay in the next match of the night, and she starts by blowing a kiss to the crowd. Kay promptly kicks Marie directly in the face, but she manages to kick out. Marie rallies with a suplex and an armbar, but Kay counters into a roll up. Marie again kicks out, and this is where things get weird. Kay suplexes Marie and pins her. The referee counts, but stops before he hits three because it looks like Marie forgot to kick out before the three count, and the crowd is really letting her have it. She quickly recovers and hits Sliced Bread for the win.

Jason Jordan and Chad Gable defeat Neville and Solomon Crowe when Jordan and Gable catch a charging Crowe in their finisher and drop him for the pin.
