It seems like Tim Tebow is out of a job in the NFL yet again. The Philadelphia Eagles made the decision to cut the former Heisman Trophy winner out of their roster for the regular season.
It's been two full NFL seasons since Tim Tebow has appeared in a regular season game; the last time Tebow was seen in regular season play was in December 2012, and this season doesn't seem to be giving him his chance to play in the NFL again either.
Things were looking hopeful for Tebow after the Eagles chose to trade Matt Barkley to the Cardinals on Friday, making him a valid contender for the 3rd spot as a quarterback for the Philly team, but now the 2007 Heisman Trophy winner is a part of the Eagle's final cuts in their 53-man roster.
According to ESPN, the Eagle's coach, Chip Kelly, plans on bringing a 3rd quarterback along with keeping the two he currently has: injury-prone Sam Bradford and Mark Sanchez.
Although Tebow did not start in the Eagle's preseason finale, he had quite a game on Thursday against his former team, the New York Jets. He completed 11 of 17 passes for 189 yards and made 2 touchdowns. But it seems that wasn't enough to keep him on the Eagle's roster.
Tebow was just one of 22 players the Eagles released on Saturday. They also cut the veteran offensive lineman John Moffitt along with the rookie running back, Raheem Mostert.
According to USA Today, although another NFL team could still sign Tebow, it doesn't look too good for the signal-caller, considering there doesn't seem to be much interest in him from any other team.
Unfortunately, Tebow has been struggling to land another job in the NFL since 2013 after the New England Patriots cut him before the regular season. Last year (2014), Tebow worked as a college football analyst for ESPN. At least his knowledge of football got him somewhere!
