Reports confirm that 52-year-old John Alleman, a Heart Attack Grill regular and unofficial spokesman for the controversial Las Vegas burger joint, was taken off life support and died on Monday (Feb. 11) after experiencing a massive heart attack last week. According to the Grill's owner Jon Basso, Alleman not only loved his job coaxing passersby to come in and enjoy a "Quadruple Bypass Burger," but he adored the fatty food and ate there almost every day. Heart Attack Grill's official Facebook page posted a video tribute to Alleman dressed in his trademark hospital gown and described as "always the life of the party."

The Las Vegas Sun reports that Alleman experienced a massive heart attack while waiting at a bus stop near the infamous Las Vegas restaurant last week. He was kept alive until Monday, when family decided to take him off of life support.

According to Basso (aka "Doctor Jon"), the energetic 180-pound security guard "never missed a day, even on Christmas. People just loved him. He connected with people in a real way."

Alleman was such a prominent figure within the Hearth Attack Grill community that a caricature of his face (indentified as "Patient John") even appears on the menu. Basso goes on to explain,

"I told him if you keep eating like this, it's going to kill ya... He'd say, 'I just love your place, Jon.' He's the only person I know who was probably at the restaurant more than I."

After Alleman's heart attack, The Heart Attack Grill honored him with this official Facebook post:

For the past 18 months if you happen to walk by the Heart Attack Grill you were probably approached by our new spokesman John Alleman. So colorful was John's sales pitch that we placed him on the cover of our menu. He was so popular with the customers that last summer we gave him his own "Patient John" clothing line on our website. John truly loved HAG and would spend hours every day getting the word out to anyone who would listen.

We are sad to say that John, at only 52, had a massive heart attack and is on life support in the cardiac unit at Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas.

John had never been married and has no children. He was proceeded in death by his mother and father. He is survived solely by his brother and roommate Paul Alleman, who has made the humane decision to discontinue John's life support on Monday Feb 11.

For a great person like John to just fade away into the night without funeral attendance would truly be an injustice to his wonderful life. For that reason the Heart Attack Grill shall close in observance of John's funeral once the exact date is determined.

John was a fun spirited man who valued laughter above all else. He was loved deeply and will be missed.

A post from Monday, Feb. 11 reads:

"To all who've given hopes and prayers for John's struggle in the cardio vascular unit, it ended humanely this morning at 10am. Dr Andy and Dr Jon were at bedside as John slipped into the next world. WE LOVE YOU BROTHER!"

Sin City's infamous Heart Attack Grill opened in October 2011, and has stirred quite the controversy for its indulgent, fatty menu ever since. Before ordering, diners (referred to as "patients") wear hospital gowns over their clothes and have their pulses checked by waitresses in skimpy nurse's uniforms. A sign above the door states, "Caution! This establishment is bad for your health." Customers who weigh over 350 pounds are also allowed to eat for free.

Last year, the restaurant found itself in hot water after two customers suffered heart attack-like symptoms while while consuming "bypass" burgers. Then in March 2011, Heart Attack Grill spokesman Blair River (29-years-old and nearly 600 pounds), died from pneumonia after experiencing the flu.
