Rob Gronkowski may have a broken left arm, but that did not stop him from partying hard enough to fall on said injured arm last week in Las Vegas and then sport a "Sorry For Partying" tank top in Orlando, Florida, this week. The only reason this shirt is causing such a commotion is because the Vegas dancing caused fans and Patriots higher-ups to throw fits over Gronkowski's action of disregarding his arm. Is his attire a deliberate retort to the fuss over his fall in the club or did Rob just buy a shirt he thought looked cool?
Thanks to the video evidence above, featuring the shirtless Patriots tight end dancing (if that's what you want to call it) and then attempting to perform some sort of professional wrestling move on a friend, the world is now privy to him almost injuring his arm even worse. His left arm broke in two places during the season, forcing him to miss the Patriots' AFC Championship Game loss to the now-Super Bowl champions, the Baltimore Ravens. Clearly his absence was felt and with the new season approaching the Patriots organization and fans want him and his arm healthy. Gronkowski first drew attention to his partying "addiction" after the 2012 Super Bowl where he was spotted dancing away the pain of losing the big game. This of course angered the organization and some fans because it seemed like he was having a good time when he should have been moping. That is just the life Gronkowski leads, everybody. He both plays and parties hard enough to break his arm. So when some candid fan photos showed up on the Internet with the tight end wearing the controversial tank top, people assumed it was a statement from Gronkowski.
I think if Rob wanted to avoid any criticism at all while he is vacationing, he should have picked any other shirt to wear. He has a reputation for partying. He got in a lot of trouble just one week ago because of his partying. Partying is not good for broken bones. So as you can see, Gronkowski definitely had some notion that his new tank top would get some media attention and cause him a little negative publicity. But then again, it is just a shirt. Yes he is making some sort of statement, but what if he was to wear a shirt that said, "Virginia is for Lovers" or something like that? What would we say about him then? Knowing Gronkowski it would probably mean something, right?
