The Charlotte Hornets' new point guard, Jeremy Lin, says he had trouble convincing a security guard that he's an NBA player when he showed up at Charlotte's Time Warner Cable Arena.

Sure, Lin's been on quite a few teams after playing at Harvard and coming into the NBA undrafted. He was a part of "Linsanity" in New York with the Knicks; he then played alongside James Harden with the Houston Rockets and last played for the Lakers with Kobe Bryant. In July, Lin signed with the Hornets.

According to Sports Illustrated, Lin will be backing up Kemba Walker, playing as a bench point guard for the Hornets. But it seems as though playing in the shadow of another player isn't looking too well for Lin considering he was completely unrecognizable by security when he arrived at the Hornets arena on Saturday for the first time. Security wouldn't believe Lin when he told them he played for the team:

If the security guard had trouble recognizing Jeremy Lin as he normally looks, she definitely wouldn't be able to recognize Lin's alter ego, "Wayne," the world's worst trainer:

Apparently, according to CBS Sports, this isn't the first time Lin has gone through something like this. Lin's 2013 documentary Linsainity, actually starts with him telling a story about a similar incident:

It is quite weird that Lin can still go unrecognized after playing five seasons in the NBA. Especially considering he's one of the only Asian players in the NBA. And how could anyone ever forget 2012's "Linsanity"?

According to ESPN, a Hornets spokesman said the team didn't have any comment.

Hopefully the security guards at Charlotte Hornet's Time Warner Cable Arena won't forget Jeremy Lin now, considering he's about to become an essential part of Michael Jordan's team as he'll be helping to fill the hole created by Mo Williams who signed with the Cleveland Cavaliers to play alongside LeBron James.
