Ryan Reynolds has indeed punched co-star Scott Speedman on the set of there new film, Queen of the Night, but do not worry; it was part of the script! [CLICK HERE FOR PICTURES] The Atom Egoyan directed movie, which also stars Rosario Dawson, centers on a man trying to locate his kidnapped daughter. The 36-year-old Reynolds portrays the father who originally believes his daughter to be dead but upon receiving clues to the contrary he starts his search. Dawson plays a detective in charge of the case whereas Speedman's role has yet to be revealed. It seems like the 37-year-old actor could be the antagonist of the film.
The pictures of the punch show an angry Reynolds putting all that he can into the blow. Speedman is then sent tumbling to the pavement, clearly rocked from the incident. Of course, that is all just good acting. What was not scripted was the frigid temperature on the Canadian film set. Between takes the actors would try there best to warm up. Surely Speedman's fall to the ground after the punch was more unpleasant than the choreographed hit. Queen of the Night is set for a 2014 release and also stars Bruce Greenwood.
Just this weekend, Reynolds was seen off set with his 25-year-old wife and Green Lantern co-star, Blake Lively, braving the cold for a stroll with their puppy, Penny. The happy couple then decided to get warm in a movie theater as they enjoyed a matinee screening. No word on what film they saw. Reynolds met Lively while filming the superhero movie, Green Lantern in 2010. The two Hollywood heartthrobs started dating in October of 2011 after Ryan's divorce from actress Scarlett Johansson earlier that year. Before marrying Reynolds, Blake Lively had dated "Gossip Girl" co-star Penn Badgley from 2007 to 2010 and had been linked to Leonardo DiCaprio as well. In June 2012, Lively and Reynolds purchased a $2 million cottage in Bedford, New York, together. Just a few months later on September 9, 2012, the couple married at Boone Hall in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.
Scott Speedman gained fame for his roles in the late 90s television drama "Felicity" and the fantasy thriller film Underworld. He is currently starring in the ABC military drama "Last Resort" as executive officer Sam Kendal. With some time off from his television series, Speedman now has the opportunity to get punched in the face by Ryan Reynolds.
