Tyra Banks' Age Stops Pregnancy Plans, Chances with Boyfriend Erik Asla? Infertility in 40s

Tyra Banks has a lot to be proud of. She has a successful modeling career, a hit television series, and is one of the most beautiful women the world has come to know, but there seems to be one thing missing from her life: a child In a new interview, Banks, 41, talked about her struggles with infertility due to her age and hopes to become a pregnant soon with boyfriend Erik Asla.

"When I turned 40, the one thing I was not happy about is that I did not have kids," Banks said. "I'm like, 'Damn, the clock is ticking!' "

Banks claimed that she used to push back motherhood in her twenties during the peak of her modeling and entrepreneurial careers. Now it seems to be a bit too late for her.

"Since I was 24, I used to say every year, 'I will have kids in three years,'" the model explained. "I kept saying it over and over again. Because my business is very entrepreneurial. I'm not for hire, so I have to do everything. I kept trying to find that time for that to happen."

Banks is currently working on her new syndicated talk show, Tyra Presents FABLife, and a cosmetics line, Tyra Beauty.

"When you're like, 'OK, I'm just going to do it,' then it's not so easy as you get older." Banks said. She has been dating photographer Erik Asla for about two years, and said they are trying IVF procedures hoping that they can produce a child.

"I've had some not happy moments with that, very traumatic moments," she explained. "It's difficult as you get older. It's not something that can just happen."

Despite her ups and downs, the America's Next Top Model host remains positive and hopeful. "I hope [for kids], I don't just want one child. I want a litter! And I want to be the kind of mom where my child can come to me for anything." We hope everything works out for the beauty.

MStars News learned that a lot of celebrities opted to use IVF treatments to help conceive a child, including Kim Kardashian. The mother of North West is expecting her second child with husband Kanye West in December thanks to the treatment.
