Aspiring engineer Ahmed Mohamed, 14, got the shock of his life after he was arrested for creating an allegedly suspicious clock for a science project for his high school! Following his arrest, President Obama responded to the incident and welcomed the smart and talented teen to the White House.

According to Dallas News, no charges were filed against Mohamed after the MacArthur High School freshman was arrested on Monday for bringing what was described as a "hoax bomb" to the school.

During a press conference Irving ISD Chief Larry Boyd revealed that Mohamed's clock was "certainly suspicious in nature."

When the 14-year-old was asked about the project, he was handcuffed "for his safety and for the safety of the officers and taken to a juvenile detention center." Mohamed was later released to his parents, Boyd told the press.

"The follow-up investigation revealed the device apparently was a homemade experiment, and there's no evidence to support the perception he intended to create alarm," Boyd said that the entire situation was a "naive accident."

News of the teen's arrest spread like wildfire and even made it to the front desk of the White House. President Obama tweeted: "Cool clock, Ahmed. Want to bring it to the White House? We should inspire more kids like you to like science. It's what makes America great."

Hillary Clinton also had something to say about the situation and tweeted: "Assumptions and fear don't keep us safe-they hold us back. Ahmed, stay curious and keep building."

The teen also grabbed the attention of United States Secretary of Education, Arne Duncan, who tweeted: "We need to be encouraging young engineers, not putting them in handcuffs. #IStandWithAhmed"

The teen boy's father told the press that he was proud of his son, and was amazed at his talents.

"He fixed my phone, my car, my computer," Mohamed Elhassan Mohamed stated. "He is a very smart, brilliant kid."

After he was released to his parents, Mohamed released a statement where he expressed his sadness, but was happy that he had a lot of support.

"It made me really happy to see all these people support me," the 14-year-old said after he was suspended by the school until Thursday. "I'm thinking about transferring from MacArthur to any other school," he added.

Mohamed was even shocked that the President sent him warm wishes and said that he would accept the invitation to go to the White House.

The teen's older sisters, 18-year-old Eyman and 17-year-old Ayisha, were the ones keeping up with tweets after their brother made national news. Both girls set up a Twitter account for their younger brother called @IStandWithAhmed, and watched it skyrocket to over a thousand followers in just hours.

"We're trending No. 1!" Ayisha cried to her sister, Eyman. "It's a blessing and a curse," Ayisha said about her brother's arrest, and sudden. "I don't think he'll ever be able to live normally again."
