The stunning bikini gals turned in their skimpy two-pieces in order to flaunt some NCAA basketball love, and broke it down in front of the famous "Welcome to Las Vegas" sign in Sin City. Read on to check out the rather bizarre (but still totally sexy) Harlem Shake - the "Sports Illustrated Bikini Model" edition! Is it the best version of the updated "Albee" yet?
In celebration of Sports Illustrated's 2013 Swimsuit issue (which just hit newsstands last week), the bikini girls hit up Las Vegas for the annual Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue party at Marquee in the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas. And despite their hectic schedules, several of the young ladies (including Kate Upton and Chrissy Teigen) took 30-seconds out of their time to prance around with pool blow-up toys in front of the infamous "Welcome to Las Vegas" sign to Baauer's new dance hit. The video's already garnered over 75,000 hits on YouTube. Check it out:
As Mstarz originally reported:
An original Wiki description of the "Harlem Shake" reads:
"The Harlem Shake, originally called the albee in Harlem, is a dance that started in 1981. The dance became mainstream in 2001 when G-Dep featured the Harlem shake in his music video Let's Get It. It has its history from an North-East African or Ethiopian (Abyssinian) dance called "Eskista" and was allegedly started in Harlem by a man named Al B. Its ancient form "Eskista" is still used in Ethiopia today...
The Harlem Shake went viral in 2013, with the release of the song 'Harlem Shake' by American producer Baauer and numerous YouTube videos uploaded featuring the dance to his song."
As U.K.'s The Sun puts it:
"Each of the wacky clips opens with the dancers gently bopping during the extended build to the song, which belongs to the 'trap' genre of music. But as soon as the bassline drops, the scene cuts to the same dancers, in the same place, furiously shaking their stuff."
The "Harlem Shake" has since taken the cyber world by storm. Check out some of the more popular "Harlem Shake" YouTube editions here:
And there's several more where that came from... just check out YouTube.
So what do fans think, is the "Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Model" edition of the "Harlem Shake" one of the best yet?
