Fans of The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice might be holding their breath to learn the outcome of whether or not her husband, Joe Giudice, will be deported following his prison stint early next year. It looks like they might be able to breathe a slight sigh of relief, as it is being reported that should the issue come up after he serves his four-year sentence for fraud, he will fight tooth and nail to stay in the country.

According to Radar Online, Giudice apparently never become an American citizen despite the fact that he has resided in the country for 20 years. Now that he has gone through a criminal trial, it seems that what will happen after his incarceration is that he will have to go back to his home country of Italy.

However, there might be a bit of a silver lining in this news, as the site is reporting that Joe isn't about to leave his family without a fight.

"There is no way Joe is going back to Italy without a huge long legal battle," an insider explained to the news site. "He had already begun the steps to become a citizen as the criminal case against him developed."

We previously reported that Joe can be seen in the new spinoff series, The Real Housewives of New Jersey: Teresa Checks In, which will follow the Giudice's as they cope with having their wife & mother behind bars.

In the Bravo clip above, the patriarch of the family is joined by some familiar faces including in-laws Melissa and Joe Gorga, as they help raise the four girls while Teresa is in prison.

The three-part series will debut on Sunday October 11 on Bravo.
