It looks as if Ben Carson is no longer No. 2 in the Republican polls, folks. CNN has former Hewlett Packard exec Carly Fiorina just behind GOP frontrunner Donald Trump. Much of Fiorina's jump, many assume, has to do with her performance at the latest Republican debate, which aired on CNN just last week.
The publication notes that after the CNN debate, Trump lost some support. Perhaps The Donald's followers found some intrigue from Fiorina?
Of course, though he lost a little support, Trump is still leading in the polls. CNN has him at 24% while Fiorina is coming up from behind at 15%, which is 3% up from her previous polling.
The once-upon-a-time second runner up for the GOP, Ben Carson, has felt a decline from 19% all the way down to 14%. Much of this could have to do with comments he recently made at Muslims, claiming that the United States should not elect a Muslim president.
So, just what was it at the Republican debate that shot up Fiorina's numbers? Well, perhaps it was when Donald Trump was called out for comments he's made against the candidate, and how she responded.
CNN's Jake Tapper asked Fiorina during the debate, "Last week in Rolling Stone magazine Donald Trump said the following about you. Quote: 'Look at that face. Would anyone vote for that? Can you imagine that the face of our next president?' Mr. Trump then said he was talking about your persona, not your appearance."
Tapper gave the GOP hopeful the chance to respond to Trump's comment, specifically about his own persona. To which she replied, "I think women all over this country heard very clearly what Mr. Trump said."
And, as you might guess, Trump tried to get in the last word.
Didn't work, Donald. Whomp, whomp, whomp...
So, thoughts on Trump v. Fiorina?
