Magnolia Home Entertainment is making the critically acclaimed Swedish movie, A Pigeon Sat on a Branch Reflecting on Existence , available for Digital Download. Before its official October release date, check out this dreamlike black comedy about human existence.

According to the official plot synopsis, Sam ((Nils Westblom) and Jonathan (Holger Andersson) are like a modern day Don Quixote and Sancho Panza. These two traveling salesmen make a living by peddling novelty items. Suddenly these two average men do something extraordinary and take viewers on a wild kaleidoscopic wandering through human destiny.

Sam and Jonathan's journey unveils the beauty of single moments, the pettiness of others, the humor and tragedy hidden within us. The duo will learn that life's grandeur also comes along with the ultimate frailty of humanity.

In an interview with Filmmaker Magazine, director Roy Andersson describes the connection between Pigeon and his previous flick, World of Glory, "Concerning this theme in World of Glory and also the colonial scene in Pigeon - this is an issue I have been engaged in all my life: how can people behave so badly to each other? I was born during the War, but I was not engaged in it. How is it that I feel guilt about the Nazi period, for example? I have thought a lot of, how to be forgiven - how can I get reconciled to these crimes that were made with Swedish assistance? I am a member of all humans, so I feel a responsibility for what we, together, have made. That question of reconciliation is a very important issue for me."

In an interview with Indiewire, the Swedish director describes the conclusion of his "Living Trilogy" as, "My movie is about humiliation, which is something I hate to see, especially when you understand that it is also very, very vulnerable. And the movie is also about reconciliation."

A Pigeon Sat On A Branch Contemplating Existence will be available for Digital/Rental Download on October 6.
